Estaba claro que los buenos resultados cosechados por "Parque Jurásico" tanto en el plano literario como cinematográfico haría que se plantease la posibilidad de una secuela tarde o temprano. Y ello llegó cuando el tristemente fallecido Michael Crichton publicó "El Mundo Perdido" que no tardaría en tener su correspondiente adaptación al cine.
En este caso la cinta se centra en las andanzas del Doctor Ian Malcom en lo que sería la trastienda del Parque Jurásico, un territorio de cría de los dinosaurios que luego se verían en la Isla Nublar.
Con unos buenos efectos especiales, "El Mundo Perdido" tiene un ritmo trepidante que en algunos momentos te deja sin aliento.

No aparece en la novela de Crichton pero sin duda el genio de la ciencia-ficción hubiese podido haber firmado la escena del T-Rex suelto por las calles de San Diego haciendo de las suyas. Este momento -homenaje al cine de monstruos sin duda- es junto con la escena de la caravana o las persecuciones de los raptores uno de los momentos de la película que te corta el aliento
