Genial adaptación de los personajes, muy bien interpretada por los actores. Y es que, cuando hay un buen nivel interpretativo, se nota al instante. Los diálogos entre Watson y Holmes, muy conseguidos, y con un nivel literario más que notable (tanto que creo que puede llegar a aburrir a los menos receptivos), son, sencillamente, fantásticos. Te atrapan, y casi te gustaría que estuvieran más tiempo discutiendo.
El problema llega cuando hay que desarrollar a esos personajes en una trama. Aunque el film devuelve una buena ambientación (con un tratamiento de la luz fantástico) del Londres victoriano (que recuerda quizá al París de Vidoq), se tambalea al avanzar por el argumento. Y no porque esté mal atado, tenga demasiados fallos o mal construido: porque resulta aburrido.
