Mystery. Horror
Vineyard owner marquis Philippe de Montfaucon is called back to his castle Bellenac because of another dry season. He asks his wife and children to remain in London, but they still come after him. His wife Catherine de Montfaucon soon discovers that her husband is acting mysteriously and that his employees are following old pagan rituals that call for the life of the marquis himself to save the crops.

Extraño y semidesconocido film terrorífico, realizado en la época de máximo esplendor del género. El irregular J. Lee Thompson elabora una intriga de carácter fantástico alrededor de un misterioso culto pagano, logrando en muchos momentos un alto grado de tensión.
Supone todo un precedente de la mítica The wicker man (1973), y tanto su inquietante atmósfera como las espléndidas interpretaciones de un elenco sensacional le confieren un empaque incuestionable.
Inolvidable Sharon Tate como estilizada y perversa bruja. Muy recomendable.
