Film noir. Drama New York, year 1934. Chris Cross (Edward G. Este aclamado film de Lang nos deja una de las mejores interpretaciones de las denominadas "femme fatale" del cine: la de la perversa Joan Bennet, que bajo los influjos de sus novio, trae por la calle de la amargura a un simple Edward G. Robinson a fin de que mantenga su elevado ritmo de vida con un dinero que no posee. Resulta genial la tensión creada por el director entre el trío protagonista como hilo conductor del film.
