"[2nd Season Review]: Ted is definitely more watchable in Season 2, more interested in character and story than it was in Season 1"

"[1st Season Review]: The 'Ted' franchise has lain dormant for nearly 10 years. A pivot to streaming seems unlikely to revive it"

IGN
"[1st Season Review]: Everyone’s favorite trash-talking teddy bear is back, but he doesn’t have much new to say (...) 'Ted' falls short of mustering up the longevity of the kind of ‘90s sitcoms it’s clearly lampooning"
United States
Collider
"[1st Season Review]: While it may become repetitive, the series is still watchable and enjoyable for fans of the Ted movies."
United States
AV Club
"[1st Season Review]: Its crass humor isn’t a far cry from the films’ fratty outlandishness, but there’s a caution in Peacock’s Ted that is unmistakable"
United States
The Daily Beast
"[1st Season Review]: What it lacks in ambition (or taste, or subtly, or class), it makes up for in disreputable humor of a surprisingly sturdy sort."
United Kingdom
The Guardian
"[1st Season Review]: [It] doesn’t feature a single funny joke (...) Bloated episodes drag on without raising a smile – it’s a total disappointment (...) Rating: ★★ (out of 5)"

"[1st Season Review]: The bad news about 'Ted''s prequel, is that all of its worst instincts are apparent from the jump (...) But if you can push past the initial tedium, the good news about Ted is that the episodes that follow represent a marked improvement"

Minneapolis Star Tribune
"[1st Season Review]: 'Ted' is cuddlier and cuter than you might expect (...) The opening dialogue is peppered with so many swear words that you might think you've stumbled into a Martin Scorsese gangster flick.

"[1st Season Review]: [It] feels like a recycled toy"
Canada
JoBlo
"[1st Season Review]: This is a hilariously profane and sometimes gross comedy that balances out with well-written plots that harken back to a different time. I loved 'Ted', and I hope Seth MacFarlane keeps developing live-action comedies like this"
United States
Decider
"[1st Season Review]: [MacFarlane] stretches things out until the length itself becomes the joke. The problem with that style is that when the gags don't land, they're painful to watch"
