- Synopsis
- This Kazakh drama chronicles the boredom of an aimless Generation X in Alma-Ata, the former capital of Kazakhstan. The protagonist is a 20-year-old poet with a life adrift. He spends his days writing, chatting with friends, visiting lovers, taking drugs and listening to opera. His mother's concerns about her son's laziness fall on deaf ears. As the days go by, the boy begins to reflect on his life and becomes more and more detached from the world around him. He even begins to distance himself from his wives, which creates problems for him. Sharing drugs becomes his only meaningful contact with others. The more he reflects, the darker his life becomes.
