- Synopsis
- A rich man buys a doll with which to surprise his motherless child on her birthday. The child overhears her father instruct the nurse where to hide it until the birthday arrives. The temptation is too great for the child and she takes it outside of the house. Her neighbor, the daughter of a poor washerwoman, falls in love with the doll.
