- Synopsis
- Marcos, a young man in his 30s, plays the guitar in Mexico City´s main square, pretending he has a disability . When his work day is over, he goes to his friend Álvaro´s house to gamble the money he made. When he gets home, he finds his wife Clarissa watching soap operas, as usual. In another room of the house lives his father Don Antonio, an old man who used to be a great concert violinist appearing in Mexico and France. Marcos is really living off his fathe´’s pension; every month he takes his fingerprints to collect the pension he receives because he developed advanced Parkinson´s disease in his senior years. One day, Don Antonio receives a strange phone call and dies of a heart attack. Clarissa tells Marcos, who collapses in pain, but warns that Clarissa will have to go to work or they will have to fraudulently collect the pension. Marco decides not to have his father declared dead until he finds another solution. Álvaro offers to cut off the dead man´s hand and preserve it in formaldehyde so as to continue to collect the pension. Marcos is reluctant to do so, but the idea of working eight hours a day convinces him that is the best course. Black humor that shows human sordidness. (FILMAFFINITY)
