- An early drama from director Antonioni, LE AMICHE is an allegory about the changing roles of women in society. Clelia (Rossi-Drago) is a beautiful young woman who works in the fashion industry, where she discovers a world of shallow people with put-on attitudes and ideas. The only solace she is able to find in this cruel and phony world is in the companionship of young architect Carlo.
