Synopsis

In the 16th century, King Francis I of France was captured by Charles V at the Battle of Pavia. In his absence, his mother, Louise of Savoy, assumed the regency and entrusted the knight Antoine de Montpezat, Francis's faithful and loyal companion, with raising the ransom demanded for her son's freedom and traveling to Madrid to deliver it to Charles V.
