- Synopsis
- A film about a leader of socialist labour. This time, however, a protagonist is a female weaver from Lodz. As opposed to a film about Bugdol (see here:link ), which was based on dissonance, this one strikes us as omnolithic. The narrative comes from Gosciminska herself, whisle Zbigniew Rybczynski's camerawork, though highly emotive, is styllistically uniform. The allegorical imagery illustrates subsequent periods of Polish history (pre-war and post-war communist Poland) and towards the end draws from socialist realist iconography. (FILMAFFINITY)
