Synopsis

Paris, 1928. Antoine Balestro, a young and elegant painter, has been unable to work since the death of his wife, to the despair of his gallery owner, Armand. One night, drunk, Antoine tries to contact her through a fortune teller. Unbeknownst to him, he is actually talking to Suzanne, a lowly carny who has sneaked into his caravan to steal food. Suzanne proves to be an expert at deception and, with Armand's help, begins to organize a series of fake séances. Little by little, Antoine recovers his inspiration, but for Suzanne, things become more complicated as she slowly falls in love with the man she manipulates...
