- Synopsis
- Keiko desu kedo ("I Am Keiko" or "Hello, It's Keiko," 1997) : Veteran independent filmmaker and avid Andy Warhol devotee Shion Sono directs this meditation on the passing of time. The film focuses on Keiko Suzuki (aptly played by Keiko Suzuki), a Tokyo waitress living alone in her brightly painted apartment. Since her father died of cancer, she has become obsessed with the passage of time. For the three weeks leading up to her 22nd birthday, she decides that she is going to record this period as accurately as possible. What follows is an impressionistic portrait of the banality and loneliness of her life.
