Synopsis
Solar Breath consists of a sixty-two minute uninterrupted shot of Snow's cabin window in northern Canada, Newfoundland. As the curtain gently billows in the breeze and we periodically glimpse the view outside, nature and chance choose the precise nature of the composition at each moment.

After swelling, the curtain is absorbed by the current producing a loud sound as it hits the glass that separates it from the view outside. This sound also hits against the wall that receives the projection. This reminds us that we are dealing with a two-dimensional image (and not a window with a curtain). It is a piece that questions the paradigm of cinema understood as an open window on illusory realities. In effect, Solar Breath (Northern Caryatids) opens a window to frustrate the voyeurism and compulsion of the viewer who wants to pass through it, by allowing only the backstage of the filming apparatus to be seen.
