Synopsis

Executed by firing squad in 1927 and beatified by Pope John Paul II 61 years later, Father Miguel Agustín Pro risked life and limb to spread the message of Christ during the anti-Catholic rule of Mexican president Plutarco Elías Calles. This biographical drama tells his story -- from his 1891 birth into a mining family in Guadalupe to his crusading efforts to create organizations to help his country's homeless.
