- Japanese director Kurosawa has been awfully quite since the release of his latest film Tokyo Sonata in 2008. Like many other indie directors in Japan, he may be trying to finance his next film project? Meanwhile, he’s directing Shokuzai, a 5-episode miniseries based on a book from novelist Kanae ‘Confessions’ Minato. About a mother seeking revenge against some students who witnessed the murder of her daughter but were unable to remember who was the killer – sounds familiar?
