- Synopsis
- Following the orders of his instructor Yagyu Jubei, Araki Mataemon treks eastward, where he helps the ronin Kawada Yunoshin. When Ikeda's aged attendant Watanabe Yukie and his son witness Mataemon's chivalrous act, they accord him deep respect and eventually Yukie gives his consent to a marriage between his daughter and Mataemon.
Mataemon arrives in Edo and opens a Yagyu-style training hall in Kagurazaka, but he is rebuked by the shogun's instructor, Yagyu Hidanokami, however when the feudal lords receive word that the dedicated Mataemon is there to obey orders from his instructor, he regains his good reputation as a swordsman.
He then joins Hondakoas a goverment official and leaves for Banshu Himeji.
Meanwhile, back in Edo, Yukie is slain by Kawabe Matagoro's sword, and his only son Kazuma seeks revenge on Matagor. At the crossroads of a key stone, Kazuma bumps into Matagoro and his party, all 36 of them. With the help of Mataemon, they fight a ferocious battle, and are successful in winning revenge.- Movie Soulmates' ratings
