It was so entertaining that I got an overdose of entertainment! But who cares? It is the latest picture from Peter Jackson, the director who received Oscars for ending "the Return of the King" six times. A remake of the classic 1933 film with sad eyes from the monkey and even sadder eyes from Adrien Brody. It is "King Too Long Kong". POS

"A stupendous adventure (...) No matter how spectacular the action, 'King Kong' is never more captivating than when the giant ape and his blond captive are looking into each others’ eyes."  POS

"[It] is high-powered entertainment, but Jackson pushes too hard and loses momentum over the more than three hours of the movie. The story was always a goofy fable—that was its charm—and a well-told fable knows when to stop."  NEU

"Peter Jackson's remake is as much a tribute to the old, seat-of-the-pants spirit of early motion pictures as it is an exercise in technological bravura."  POS
