"Atrociously written, begrudgingly acted, haphazardly assembled and never more backward than when it thinks it's being progressive."

"This movie never should have seen the light of day or the dark of theater (...) Offensively stupid, shamelessly manipulative, ridiculously predictable and hopelessly dated"

United States
New York Post
"'Mother's Day' is a film only its creators could love (and even they must be having some misgivings). (...) Rating: ★ (out of four)"
United States

"If you love your mother, do not make her see this movie"
United States

"'Mother’s Day' is about as bad as a movie can be without being remotely obnoxious. It’s mostly pleasing, or at least pleasant"
United States
The Wrap
"Laugh-free and witless (...) With 'Valentine’s Day,' 'New Year’s Eve' and now 'Mother’s Day,' director Garry Marshall has officially become the worst thing to happen to holidays"
