Media Author Review
United States
Minneapolis Star Tribune
"While it's swell that these actors are getting roles and heartening that 'Maybe I Do' acknowledges that older people remain sexual beings, all four leads have been in better projects that made that same point. (...) Rating: ★★ (out of 4)"
United States
The Hollywood Reporter
"Despite the formidable star wattage and estimable talents on display, 'Maybe I Do' fails to overcome its obvious stage origins, feeling all too schematic and talky"
United States
AV Club
"You might expect something along the lines of Garry Marshall's holiday films, but you'd be severely disappointed. This has a much simpler and less engaging structure"
United States
Collider
"A decent romantic romp (...) Sarandon, Keaton, Gere, Macy, Roberts, and Bracey, elevate the script with a charm that feels entirely natural, and they make these characters shine."
United States
rogerebert.com
"Each coupling is as chaste and sexless as an after-school special (...) Rating: ★ (out of 4)"
United States
Variety
"[It] may appeal to an older demographic (...) The actors here give 'Maybe I Do' more than it gives them. But they get just enough to give performances that are considerably substantial and satisfying"
United States
The New York Times
"[It gives] way to musty monologues on marriage —material that even the seasoned cast is unable to freshen up"
United States
Chicago Tribune
"Gere is the movie’s saving grace and somehow makes it all seem worth it"
United States
The Wrap
"There is simply no need for 'Maybe I Do' to be a film; it certainly isn’t shot like one (...) 'Maybe I Do' is far less interested in humanity than it is a pastiche of humanity"
Canada
JoBlo
"Harmless, sweet, and brief, this is a nice little date movie that delivers exactly what it advertises"
