Mystery. Thriller Two teenagers -Richard (Ryan Gosling), the most popular guy in class, and his mate Justin (Michael Pitt), shy, intelligent and a real bookworm- commit a murder and litter the scene of the crime with false clues to prove that they can get away with it. The investigation work of detectives Cassie Mayweather (Sandra Bullock, also executive producer) and Sam Kennedy (Ben Chaplin) leads them to the school at which Richard and Justin study.
