"The film has grit and atmosphere to burn but also a certain narrative sketchiness, as though unable to reconcile its sharp sociological portraiture with the pleasures of a more robustly plotted crime yarn"  NEU

"There is a lot to like: a great opening, searing action and strong cast (Winslet is a stand out). Yet it has a familiar feel, runs out of steam and ultimately doesn’t match up to the sum of its parts (...) Rating: ★★★ (out of five)"  NEU
