The Woman in the Window

Mystery. Thriller Agoraphobic Dr. Anna Fox spends her days holed in in her New York City brownstone, fortifying herself with too much wine, binge watching old movies, and spying on her neighbors. In the “Rear Window” vein, Anna eventually witnesses something she shouldn’t while keeping tabs on the Russell family, the seemingly picture perfect clan that lives across the way.

"Something that intermittently looks and sounds like a good movie without ever actually being one. (...) resembles other psychological thrillers about women in distress without being terribly thrilling or psychologically insightful".  NEU

"An overstuffed, floridly preposterous psycho-thriller (...) is the kind of movie that would love to be described as Hitchcockian. But the resemblances are cosmetic at best"  NEG

"An all-star slow-burn mystery for much of its 102-minute runtime until it suddenly decides to become a vomitous reveal-fest doling out all its twists as fast as possible. (...) Rating: ★★ (out of 4)"  NEU

"It's empty calories that hinge on a twist that feels flat and unrewarding. It's a perfectly satisfactory thriller that uses heightened sight and sound, tethered to Anna's increased mania, to ramp up the tension"  NEU
