"Caine looks embarrassed through the entire film, as well he might."

Miami Herald
"For the most part 'Blame It on Rio' is witless, predictable and bland, despite Donen's fascination with the topless-beach scene (his camera combs the shore for breasts with the unsubtle fervor of a pig rooting for truffles)"
United States
The New York Times
"It's one of those unfortunate projects that somehow suggests that everyone connected with the movie hated it and all of the other people involved."
United States

"Offputting, even at times nasty."
