"A high-minded film that has entrusted so much else to our imagination. Now, all of a sudden, Garland goes too far, such that you can't help feeling, well, man-ipulated"  NEU

"A mind-bending dissection of manhood (...) Riveting performances from Jessie Buckley and a truly chameleonic Rory Kinnear make this an unconventional genre standout"  POS

"For all of its singularly bizarre thrills, all of which reaffirm Garland as a vital interpreter for a world that's coming apart at the seems, 'Men' is the first of his films that makes life feel simpler than it really is"  NEU

"'Men' seems designed more to start arguments than to tell any kind of cohesive or meaningful story. Viewers are likely to come away arguing as much about what they actually saw on screen as they do about what it all meant"  NEU
