About this movie

Grady Lee Jr. is a struggling reclusive farmer who's known to the local residents as a savant. One morning, he enters his father's office, a place he rarely goes, and discovers his late father's secret Vietnam War era journal. It contains in depth research for a revolutionary machine, called Jack, based on Nikola Tesla's theories and metaphysical science, that could possibly change the world. This sets him on an obsessive path of discovery. With help of his only friend, Boudreaux, Grady begins work on the device. This is soon interrupted when he receives a call informing him that his sister, Mary Ann, has passed away and he is to become the guardian of his gifted 6 year old nephew, Kai. Reluctantly, he accepts the responsibility. Kai is special child, but to Grady, the kid is a distraction. Unknowingly, Mary Ann has planned this moment for years and believes this will be the perfect environment for her son's ability to mature and could be exactly what Grady needs to fulfill his dream.

Really boring. I ended up not caring if and how he got the machine made. To be fair, the plot when read sounded very interesting but it didn't translate to the actual movie. The acting was good but nothing connected.
