- Synopsis
- Behind the gates of a palm tree-lined fantasyland, four residents of America's largest retirement community, The Villages, FL, strive to find solace and meaning. Produced by Darren Aronofsky, Lance Oppenheim's documentary casts an ironic glance at the world's largest retirement community, which is found, inevitably, in Florida. Once we become accustomed to the strange banality of this narcoleptic nirvana, Oppenheim starts digging into the far odder inhabitants, most memorably the couple who have been married for over 40 years now... She's in her element here, while he's developing a serious drug habit (cocaine, PCP) and believes he may be a God.
