- Synopsis
- Today’s modern-age technology has given us the ability to search for anything; clothes, furniture, cooking recipes, LOVE. Millions of people fall victim to these famous initial encounters every year, better known as, First Dates. First Dates is a comedic short film centering around an eclectic cast of characters in a series of vignettes about first dates. Using an ensemble cast to explore the foibles of the ruthless dating world, First Dates never plays safe in it’s commentary on our sometimes awkward, always hilarious, desperate human quest for companionship in the fast paced modern-world.
Everyone has their own thing; that peculiarity that seemingly separates them from the rest of the populace. First Dates looks at how these peculiarities can manifest itself during a series of dates. First Dates serves as a modern rendition of the parable of the Mote and the Beam. That is to say people remain too focused on the idiosyncrasies and flaws of others to admit to their own. And in the end it’s only when people own their eccentricities that they’re able to embrace those of another and have a real connection. Think you have the worst First Date story, you’ll have to see this film to believe you don’t.- Movie Soulmates' ratings
