Synopsis
Gerbstedt is a small village in the mining district of Mansfeld. In 1929, a celebration of brotherhood between workers and Soviet mining town, received as a gift Gerbstedt Flag Kriwoj Rog, which becomes a symbol of unexpected importance in the village. The flag was not only a symbol of solidarity in each event, but after the rise of the Nazi regime becomes a symbol of the Communist opposition and the struggle for survival in Nazi Germany. The Nazis themselves realize the importance of the flag and tirelessly seek. Despite the persecution, torture and imprisonment, nothing persuades the miners and their families to deliver the flag. The film is based on the novel of the same name Otto Götsche and was dedicated by its creators to the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. The book and film are based on real events Gerbstedt village.
