Synopsis
This classic adaptation of Thomas Hughes` novel is set amongst the classrooms, playing fields and dormitories of Rugby School. Iain Cuthbertson stars as Dr. Arnold, Anthony Murphy as young Tom Brown and Richard Morant as the bullying Flashman. Tom Brown is overjoyed to find out he has a place at the prestigious Rugby School. An altercation with Sir Richard Flashman, whose son is a fifth year at the school, ensures that Tom is in for a difficult time at Rugby. On his first day Tom meets another newcomer to the school, the headmaster Dr. Arnold. Dr Arnold is determined to stamp out bullying, excessive drinking and bad behaviour which he believes is ruining the school`s reputation.
