- Kárpáthy Abellino intends to get his uncle's great heritage. He tries to kill Kárpáthy János in various ways. János, who suffered a stroke, is looked after by his devoted friend, Szentirmay and his wife. Abellino swears that he will win the hand of the rich, beautiful, but ill-famed Mayer Fanny. János, ultimately recovered from his serious illness, offers a part of his great wealth for flourishing the country and the same time, he thwarts Abellino's plans as well...
