- Synopsis
- To leave one's home and emigrate is always a vital decision. It means coming into contact with another culture, another language. But this is the courageous leap Mari takes when the death of her husband forces her to bring up her kids on her own. Attracted like so many others in the 70's by the economic growth of Catalonia, Mari leaves her birthplace, Huelva, behind and arrives in Barcelona ready to do anything to better her situation. The process of her personal evolution runs parallel to the events of the times: financial difficulty, struggle, survival, repression, financial improvement, crises of sectors and beliefs, a glimmer of hope, new disillusionment... And the constant need to fight at least for one's own dignity.
