- Synopsis
- Wah-Wah lifts an early chapter from Richard E. Grant's own life growing up in Swaziland in the last days of the British Empire. Ralph Compton (a surrogate for Grant played by both Zachary Fox and Nicholas Hoult) lives among military men and restless colonials who have little for amusement but gin and adultery. Ralph's father (Gabriel Byrne) is a cuckold bent on drinking himself clear of his misery. His wife (Miranda Richardson) flaunts her bad behaviour and runs off with the square-jawed neighbour.
