- Synopsis
- France, just after the war. Based on the autobiographical novel of psychoanalyst and author Philippe Grimbert, ‚Un secret' tells the story of how a dark family secret is revealed. It is told passionately; through the eyes of imaginative only-child François who not only makes up an older brother for himself, but even re-invents his parents' past while he's at it. When he turns 15 he is told the real truth about himself. His parents and he are jewish, and - yes - he did have an older brother. But the terrible times of the German occupation of France cast long shadows onto the present...
