Peter Morales (Ricardo Montalban) takes it to Harvard, where Dr. McAdoo (Bruce Bennett) determines that it belonged to a murdered, pregnant woman. Evidence traces the girl back to Henry Shanway (Marshall Thompson), a young married man who doesn't tell the full truth when questioned. Henry is locked up while his distraught wife Grace (Sally Forrest) tries to find out why witnesses all finger her husband. Meanwhile, Mrs. Smerrling (Elsa Lanchester), the landlady of the murdered woman, is working on a side deal of her own.
