- Synopsis
- TV Miniseries (2011). 8 Episodes. The show relives the public and private joys and tragedies of the most influential family in the world including fraternal rivalries, mob associations, the drugs and the women. The movie event recreates the political crises that John F. Kennedy dealt with in the early days of his presidency including the Bay of Pigs invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis that brought the world to the brink of nuclear war and the Civil Rights Movement. Viewers will see every twist and turn of this family’s extraordinary story up to and including the assassinations of JFK and RFK.
In january 2011 History Channel decided to cancel the broadcasting of the miniseries in the USA. According to the network: “Upon completion of the production of The Kennedys, History has decided not to air the 8-part miniseries. After viewing the final product in its totality, we have concluded that although the film is produced and acted with the highest quality auspices, the dramatic license the series takes is not suitable for the History brand.”-
