Synopsis

Bebe is the star of the stage, and Harold is a police officer. They meet at a park bench one day, where she is waiting for Bud. Bebe is not impressed by Harold's uniform, and walks off with Bud. Harold is transferred to a Chinatown beat, joing fellow officer Snub; there has been trouble around the neighborhood of late, so security is being beefed up. That evening, Bebe and Bud go to dinner at the Chop Suey restaurant. Harold hangs around the restaurant, just be be near Bebe. There is a back room card game going on, and entry is by visual password only. Harold tries to get in, and by the time he succeeds (having attempted a number of funny gestures), all the illegal goods are hidden. Harold is convinced that Bebe has been taken into an opium den, and enlists Snub to join him in a raid. He captures Bebe and carries her out. She angrily tells Harold that the group was simply rehearsing a scene from her new play: Bebe and Bud drive off.
