- Synopsis
- Spend a few days with three American men in this exhilarating comedy set in New York’s hip underground. Directed, edited and co-written by Brian De Palma and starring Robert De Niro as Jon Rubin, one of the three men trying to beat an army physical. They will try anything imaginable to avoid serving in Vietnam. Jon’s plans to pose as a right-wing militant backfire and he ends up on the front lines of the war. The film explores the early sixties through the eyes of these disillusioned men. The result is a hilarious satirical attack on everything from the Kennedy assassination to computer dating and free love.
