Synopsis

September 1944. Late in World War II, during the Battle of Hürtgen Forest, Private David Manning (Ron Eldard) reluctantly abandons a mortally wounded comrade to rejoin his platoon mates. Unfortunately, Captain Pritchett informs him that they are all dead. Manning is then promoted to sergeant against the opinion of Sergeant Talbot, who considers him a coward.
