- Synopsis
- An idyllic mountain town in the Italian dolomites is shocked by the murder of teenager Anna. Her body is found lying naked by the lake - without any traces of sexual or even physical violence. Inspector Sanzio who is called out from the province's capital is put in charge of this case, in which the victim is quite as mystifying as the cause of her death. Amongst the suspects he finds the village fool, Anna's boyfriend and even her own father, whose home videos display an interest in the girl that is more than paternal. Even the recently divorced neighbour, whose autistic child recently died in an extraordinary accident, arouses the detective's suspicion. A brooding sky, foggy paths and a stunning mountain panorama which draws all the more attention to the dark secrets of the little town: this is a captivating murder mystery based on a novel by Norwegian crime specialist Karin Fossum.
