- Synopsis
- In "17 Reasons Why", Dorsky made a 16mm film from unslit 8mm rolls, which produce four small frames for each image in two pairs of sequential frames. The side-by-side sets of doubled images deflect attention from the free camera movements and frequent superimpositions within those frames to the generalised impression of filmic representation, an impression that Dorsky enhances by sometimes sweeping etched scratches and the marks of chemical processing across all four frames at once.
