Viaje de dos hermanos a las entrañas del infierno en vida. Tremenda historia, tremendas actuaciones, tremenda dirección, una sorpresa total que un abuelete como Lumet saque fuerzas de no se sabe donde y golpee al estomago del espectador con algo tan áspero.
Poco cine reciente consigue el nivel de tensión dramática a la que llega esta película, Mistic River, La vida de David Gale, Million Dollar Baby ... y la verdad que no se me ocurren muchas mas.
Una auténtica tragedia griega.

El momento final es durísimo, a todos los personajes les espera el final mas cruel posible, a algunos de forma merecida, a otros no tanto. Un hermano se acaba convirtiendo en un monstruo, el otro horrorizado de todo lo ocurrido se convierte en un muerto en vida y al padre le inunda el odio hasta que le consume.
