- Synopsis
- Sascha is a high-school teacher in his early 30s. Six months ago he met Julia, a freelance translator, and immediately knew she was the woman for him. Julia flies to Turkey for a week to attend a conference on Oriental Studies. When Sascha goes to the airport to pick her up he discovers that she was never on the returning flight. Instead, he is told that she died in a diving accident in the Mediterranean a few days earlier. Sascha, shocked, is soon plunged into the depths of despair. He has no reason to think that her death was anything but a cruel blow of fate... Until he sees her again – on television! In Iraq, an unknown group has seized several Europeans and is holding them hostage. Though the television images are far from perfect, Sascha is absolutely convinced that the one woman among the hostages is Julia.
