Synopsis

The bourgeois couple Thomas and Elisabeth has invited Elisabeth's brother Thomas and his pregnant partner Anna as well as their distinguished friend René for dinner. The convivial evening with good food and fine wines takes an unexpected turn, when Thomas and Anna announce that they want to name their son Adolf. The hosts and René are rendered speechless and soon a fierce argument erupts that gradually spirals out of control. Suppressed conflicts, sins of their youth and family secrets are used as weapons in a debate about the appropriateness of a name that turns into a general reckoning where nothing is taboo anymore.
