- Synopsis
- Karma portrays a 19-year-old Sun, who became a fugitive after he ran over a girl in an accident. To hide from the law, he unwillingly ordained as a novice in a remote northeastern forest monastery without real faith. On the night after his ordaination, he step on the offering to the hungry ghost and the act brought him to a confrontation with a hungry ghost who came to ask for the merit that was lost because of his action whilethe ghost of the girl who died in the accident also came to haunt him. The visit by the hungry ghost led him to find out about the identity of the ghost and the hidden mystery behind the monastery past and the people in the village.
Sun has also developed a special relationship with a local girl called Fai, the only living soul that kept him continuing his life in the yellow robe. The two became more intimate on the edge of taboo, while horror incidents kept occuring. Unexpectedly, Sun discovered the interconnected karmas of those who lived in the monastery. Not only for the locals, but now the sins that he was trying to run away from were looking for a redemption that they deserved.
