- Maggy is an eighteen-year-old single mother. She still lives with her own mother, and has broken up with the father of her child, Lucy. Maggy meets Gordon in a disco and falls in love with him. She is impressed that he earns his own money and already has an apartment. After a quarrel with her mother, she suddenly decides to move in with him. Until now, Maggy has done little to care for her child, but she takes Lucy with her and shares the responsibility with Gordon. At fi rst he takes pride in the unaccustomed role of father, but living together is a bigger strain for both than either expected. Gordon gradually withdraws, and Maggy is left more and more to her own devices.
