- Synopsis
- A group of young people escapes from a juvenile detention center. In the middle of nowhere, they have to make their way through nature, traversing the wild. So the title is a reference to the natural landscape; and also to the protagonists’ impulsive character. Poetic at times, Los salvajes leans on off-camera and a dry mise-en-scene to portray the violence of its characters. Although the name of Alejandro Fadel might not mean a lot to us, he is one of the most important screenwriters in recent Argentinean cinema. But in his directing debut, he has made a visually powerful first work.
