Drama. Romance
It's winter and Billy (Vincent Gallo) has just been released after a five year prison stint into the bleak landscape of an industrial area outside of Buffalo. Academicismo indie: fotografía desconcertante, personajes atormentados, predominio del diálogo sobre la acción, Christina Ricci, poquita música, ritmo leeento. El lado oscuro del sueño americano (otra vez. Gran concepto ese, por cierto, aunque sea para cagarse en el mismo, qué pena que no tengamos algo parecido por aquí... sí, en Singapur). Buffalo 66 funciona mejor, creo yo, como comedia oscura a lo Bill Hicks que como drama. Megalómana, también, no tanto por a ubiquidad de su director y protagonista como por la dilatación innecesaria y vagamente pretenciosa de algunas escenas, cuando en realidad pasar, pasar, pasa muy poco.

- El prota es un personaje complejo. Tan complejo que casi se vuelve arquetípico. El resto son todos imbéciles (muy indie eso también).
- Menos mal que acaba bien. Llega a acabar mal y el pretenciómetro revienta.
- Vincent Gallo parece (físicamente, digo) un híbrido de Sean Penn, Jonnhy Deep, Vigo Mortenssen... un poco de Jim Carrey, quizá...
