"Dunkirk is an impressionist masterpiece (...) Using a risky, even radical narrative structure that splits the storytelling into three intercut chronologies of different duration (...) Nolan, who wrote the script himself, presents the brutal truth of the situation with lashing, pitiless directness."  POS
