Media Author Review
United States
Boston Globe
"'Secret Headquarters' is uneven but consistently lively. There are moments of real wit, though not enough to compensate for the fairly tired, somewhat confused action sequences (…) Rating: ★★ (out of 4)"
United States
IndieWire
"Owen Wilson flies high in actually original kids’ comedy (...) that kids and parents can both enjoy"
United States
The New York Times
"'Secret Headquarters' has the playful, mischievous air of something like 'The Goonies' (...) it has the air of …well, of just another superhero movie"
United States
AV Club
"Between all the cool gadgets (...) you desperately want 'Secret Headquarters' to be a fun and swift adventure (...) But that imaginary film is unfortunately trapped somewhere inside this clumsy wreck"
United States
The Hollywood Reporter
"With less pedestrian writing, there might have been some genuine uplift in the outcome of a family reinforcing its bonds while taking on future missions as a unified team. But 'Secret Headquarters' is mostly just meh"
United Kingdom
NME
"It might not be much of an Owen Wilson movie, or even that much of a superhero flick, but(...) there’s a fun little Sunday afternoon family film here just begging for a sequel (…) Rating: ★★★ (out of 5)"
United States
CNN
"Some of the elements in 'Secret Headquarters' are mildly pleasant, but the film seems too content to color completely within the lines"
United States
Polygon
"'Secret Headquarters' proves itself to be a fun, heartwarming romp"
United States
rogerebert.com
"It is as bland and forgettable as its title would suggest. It’s so generic, it almost sounds like the name of a better movie translated awkwardly from another language into its simplest terms in English (…) Rating: ★ (out of 4)"
Canada
JoBlo
"'Secret Headquarters' isn't funny enough, action-packed enough, or original enough to warrant the level of talent involved in front of the camera or behind it"
Canada
Screen Rant
"Aided by an excellent young cast, 'Secret Headquarters' is a fun adventure for all ages (…) Rating: ★★★ (out of 5)"
United States
Decider
"Faint praise for 'Secret Headquarters'. It's fine. Use once and destroy. Go ahead and be 51 percent amused and 49 percent unamazed"
United States
Variety
"With a solid cast, healthy sense of humor and polished visual effects, the film rises above so many of the sub-cinematic slogs littering the streaming fray"
United States
Ready Steady Cut
"Despite Owen and Scobell's charm, the film is boring and derivative (…) Rating: ★★ (out of 5)"
